COMPUTING POLICIES
Internet access on the USC computer system is restricted by
licensing agreements with Internet providers for non-commercial
use only. Internet connectivity should be used to foster and
enhance instruction and research: commercial use is strictly
forbidden (no advertising services or products, no distribution
of data or software for a fee, no fee-based consulting, no
private business communications). Additionally, electronic mail
should not be used to distribute junk mail solicitations, or to
canvas the Internet community regarding profit-making ventures.
Electronic harassment is strictly forbidden. Violators of this
policy will be revoked from the system and may be subject to
University disciplinary action.
The following table provides links to official University
policies related to computing and communications. For student
conduct policies related to computing, refer to the
University's Student Handbook and Policy Guide. For an
overview of University policy on student internet use, refer to
the Student Guidelines for Responsible Computing website.
