CSD has purchased a block of 100 St. Bernard's Open File Manager
7.0 (OFM) licenses. This is software that can be installed on a
NetWare or NT/2000 server to ensure open files (Word, etc.) are backed
up. Without this type of software, the backup will typically skip
these open files and they will not be backed up.
Note: Special consideration has to be taken for open database files
(like SQL, etc) and a different version of Open File Manager must be
purchased and installed.
Computer Services has already installed about 55 of the 100 OFM
licenses. Thus there are about 45 left that can be purchased by the
network managers for your NetWare and/or NT/2000 servers. The cost is
$550/per server and includes maintenance. This is reduced since we
bought in bulk. The single server cost is typically about $775 with
the maintenance.
